The PPPI was founded by John Crosland Jr. in 1999 and he\u00a0soon enlisted his close associate H. Allen Tate Jr. and other Charlotte real estate\u00a0luminaries to PPPI\u2019s Board of Directors.\u00a0They understood firsthand that every day, local and state governments, as well as the\u00a0federal government, are considering and adopting new ordinances, regulations or laws\u00a0that impact the viability of the real estate industry and the business community at large.\u00a0Local governments are especially active in a thriving area such as the Charlotte region,\u00a0where they are constantly addressing the opportunities and challenges that come with\u00a0sustained economic growth and development in the region.\u00a0The PPPI founders believed that government decision-makers must be fully informed if\u00a0they are to find effective solutions to the issues they are considering. This requires taking\u00a0into account the economic and practical impact of governmental actions.
